UPDATE: THE COMP IS LIVE

The latest iteration of our long-running holiday compilation/nonsense melee/friend party with Bermuda Mohawk is out this Friday 12/21! Check out this great article about the compilation that Carol Thompson wrote for the Lansing State Journal!

This year’s comp features new tracks from Flatfoot, Erotic Novels, CrookedSound, Isaac Vander Schuur, The Plurals, Matt Waterman, Disappointed Dad, Tigershark Don’t Quit, Sleeping Timmy, Scary Women, Jeremy Porter, Cavalcade, Dale J Gordon, Weltschmerz, Blaine and His Keyboard, the Ryne Experience, and Smashing Blumkins alongside new artists and side projects, totaling to 24 songs. Things go live on Friday – and there’s also a release party at The Avenue Cafe where limited hard copies will be available and some of the bands will play their Snohawk songs from over the years. Punks With Lunch donations too! SEASON! TIS!

To cap off a full year of touring – US, UK, and Canada, slackers! – in support of last year’s great LP “Don’t Worry It’s Not Contagious,” our resident Detroit rockers Jeremy Porter and The Tucos are kicking out a 7-inch to seal the fate of 2018 as a great year for GTG. “At Least She’s Still In Love With You” b/w “How About A Beer For Smokey The Bear?” continues this power trio’s winning streak of powerpop-Americana-garage rock that we’ve been privileged to be party to since joining forces in 2017. The guys have a pair of release shows this weekend to celebrate the new 7-inch – tonight at Village Idiot in Maumee, OH and Saturday for their only 2018 hometown show at PJ’s Lager House in Detroit! Blaine cover pngLansing weirdo singer-songwriter Blaine and His Keyboard has finally issued their debut EP and we couldn’t be more stoked to be a part of it! Blaine has been kicking around the scene for a few years and is a veteran of multiple GTG Fests but has never had a proper release. With the help of engineer extraordinaire Jason Roedel, Blaine has finally captured the manic energy of his stage show in a neat little package and you can stream it, download it, and buy it on CD now! Whoo!

Extra Arms – Headacher OUT NOW

GTG112, Headacher by Extra Arms is out now! This excellent southeast Michigan quartet recently stole the show at GTG Fest XI and we’re extremely excited to have a band in our ranks that evokes “the cleaner, crunchier sound of alt-rock greats like Sugar and Superdrag” among its confident, concise, fuzzy powerpop sounds. Extra Arms is headed by Ryan Allen, a face and name that should be familiar to Michigan indie rock fans of the last decade-plus via his work with the great Thunderbirds Are Now! and his various solo activities, and Headacher is the debut release from the new, full-band iteration of Extra Arms. It’s always fun to have good company, which we certainly now all have with the addition of Headacher to our catalog. The CDs are available from us, with slabs of wax available from our Canadian pals at Get Party Records, digitally its everywhere, and the release party is tomorrow night at Cellarmen’s in Hazel Park!

Erotic Novels “There Is No Language In Our Love” OUT NOW

GTG110 – the debut LP from New Brunswick, NJ’s Erotic Novels – is out now! Shannon and Chris are two of our collective all time best band pals and we’re honored/stoked/hoked/etc to be partnering up with them for their debut full-length. Equal parts pop-punk and indie-rock, we do not exaggerate in any way when we say this record is… really, really good! The record (which we co-released with Weekend Quality) was recorded earlier this year at Volume IV with Chris Pierce and you can get it on vinyl and digital right here. The band has some killer shows coming up, including an NJ date October 6th with Weston, so stay tuned to their page for more updates. Let’s welcome them into the family!
