CrookedSound

Biography

Eric Merckling spent a decade playing bass and writing songs in the critically acclaimed space-rock band Calliope, with the template for his solo productions debuting on the group’s 2002 album Braille. After departing Calliope in 2003, Merckling has used the CrookedSound moniker as a catch-all term for his songs, performances, productions, and recording projects. Entering the GTG orbit in 2007, Merckling became the studio guy/ “don’t call me a producer” for The Plurals on the 2008 album Whatevers Forever, with the members of The Plurals in turn becoming frequent collaborators on Merckling’s own songwriting output. In addition to his work with The Plurals, Merckling has also manned the controls for the upcoming debut full-length from Stargrazer, as well as issued a steady stream of his own engaging song productions on the various label compilations, with a full-length album planned for the future.
