Some kinda new music! Here’s a previously unheard live recording of The Plurals at The Robin Theatre from May 4, 2019. This was the MUMBLEBEE release party and also the last full Plurals show for a good few months as Hattie was super pregnant at this show. It was a great time and we’re really happy to have a document of it. 18 tracks, lots of goofin, songs from across the Plurals catalog, plus a Cheap Trick cover. Check it out – there will be shows again!
Well, all righty where to begin? I’ll pretend that someone from the future is looking through the GTG archives, how about that? Classic narrative device!
In early 2020 a highly contagious flu called Coronavirus forced people all over the world to stay quarantined in their homes to not spread the virus so fast that it would collapse the health care system. It was a wild thing to live through, let me tell you. So what we did way back then to stay sane and try to make something positive creatively was release a series of videos every day on the GTG Records facebook page featuring solo/acoustic performances of GTG artists and friends. Most of these videos were filmed via phones or simple camera setups. It’s cool to look back on now from a safe and comfortable vantage point from the future, er, present. We called the video series “Staying At Home With GTG Records” and here’s the videos posted the first two weeks of containment in March 2020. Wow, check them out!
Michael Boyes (Drinking Mercury) – Delightfully Lonely
Timmy Rodriguez (Drinking Mercury) – A Nordhouse Night
Joseph “Dim” Wolstenholme (Alpha Rabbit/Honah Lee) – Red State Blues

Everyone at GTG is very excited to have all of the Sticks’ singles in one place AND to try out this new short-run vinyl method. Hopefully this will be the first of many limited edition vinyl releases we can curate for the folks that want ’em!
Drinking Mercury’s self-titled second album is now available digitally. Check it out above from GTG or stream/download at any of these other soulless places where the streaming and the downloading tends to happen: Spotify iTunes Amazon YouTube
Check out the first single from the new Drinking Mercury album, out this Friday! “Catching Up To Me,” like the rest of the self-titled album, was recorded in the dead of a Michigan summer at a cabin in Bitely, MI. The end result is warm and atmospheric and a new high for this band.
Drinking Mercuy is releasing a new self-titled album at The Robin Theatre on November 23rd, with special guests When Particles Collide!
But first! The Stick Arounds are celebrating ten years as a band and they’re having a big ol’ shinding at The Avenue Cafe on Friday November 15! Joining the Sticks are GTG Family The Plurals, Jeremy Porter and the Tucos plus Detroit’s Popular Creeps!
Bam! Another solid entry from Small Parks and for the ol GTG gang (is that redundant like ATM Machine?) in 2019. 3 new songs (one of which was previewed way back on GTG100) recorded this fall and produced by Nick Diener. Get ready to shout along. It’s great to have these fine folks back!
The other release from GTG Fest weekend, here’s the debut album from Disappointed Dad! This low-key-on-the-internet-but-in-your-face-in-person quartet features members of The Plurals, The Fiction Junkies, Frank and Earnest, the Cartridge Family, Josh David and the Dream Jeans, etc etc. Here’s 10 songs mostly from the whacky mind of Josh David, filtered through open G tuned guitars and some garage rock rhythm partners. There’s a couple vaguely political and social justice songs in there too for good measure. Check it out!
