MK Ultra Culkin was a self-described “post-hardcore punk revival” band that dished out intense and disorienting music for several years in the midwest from about 2005-2010. Their 2009 album Sexual Exhiliration at a Bargain Price was the debut release on drummer Todd Karenin’s Silver Maple Kill Records label, with their follow-up being the SMK and GTG co-released Homeland Insecurity EP in 2010. The band called it a day towards the end of 2010, with Karenin and bassist Nick Merz (also of the Hat Madder) forming the heavy blues band the Jackpine Snag in 2011.
